Niche marketing is a great way for regular people to make money online without a store or big business model. Instead of swimming in a stream that is already filled with success and failure stories, you will hit a market that many have not found yet.
Why Choose A Niche or Focused Market?
Choosing a niche market is ideal because a broader topic will have too much competition. It can still be done but you will have a hard time breaking into a market place that is already filled with lots of successful products, websites and affiliates.
With niche marketing, you can find areas to market that many have never heard or found. This will allow you to create something different and bring unique ideas, content and products to your visitors.
Save Money on Advertising
You cannot become successful without some form of advertisement. If you choose to go with pay per click and other similar online advertising, you will find that it can be much too expensive in a broad niche. Popular keywords could cost hundreds and thousands of dollars for every click.
If you use niche marketing, it could only cost you pennies to advertise using keywords that are not popular. Niche marketing also allows easier use of long tail keywords as more popular websites won’t pay much attention to them.
Target Specific Keywords Easily
Trying to get to the top of a search engine is one of the most difficult aspects of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and paying a company to help will still not guarantee good placement. It will be hard for visitors to find your website via search engine if your results are on the hundredth page.
Using niche marketing however, you can easily obtain results in the first few pages and as your website gains in popularity, you can get a first or second page placement.
Become An Expert
What’s important in a niche business is the ability to know all you can about that niche and product. With a business that is closely focused on one point, you can find yourself in a unique situation instead of fighting for elbow room in an overpopulated market.
Look around you and pay attention to the things that you know well. Do you offer advice to family and friends on anything specific? This free advice can turn into an online money making venture. If you have the secrets to growing that perfect rose bush, use it to your advantage. Sure you can make money selling affiliate products, but you can make more money by selling your own ebook, filled with information that you know well. An affiliate makes a little bit of money from a product but they do a lot of work to make even one sale.
If you work hard at your niche, you could be one of those fortunate people who can leave their day job to spend their full time at home working in your home business. This means more money, more time for yourself and more time to share with your family.

According to Wikipdia, the free encyclopedia, a “niche market is a focused, targetable portion (subset) of a market sector”.
Using this definition, niche marketing is the process of finding and serving market segments, that are too small for big companies to serve them profitably defined by the volume of sales. The key to niche marketing is to find and develop a service or product that is in high demand for the small group of potential customers, but the number of these customers is still high enough, so that you can be potentially profitable nonetheless. The service or product should be selected based on the unmet customer need. To maintain a profitable volume of sales, niche marketers are reliant on the loyalty of customers. To increase the customer loyalty it is important to focus on the quality of the product or service provided, this will generate customer satisfaction, trust in the product or service, and consequently sales.
How to find a niche that is profitable?
The most important and difficult task to do when starting niche marketing is doing site research. As with any business it is much easier to start with something that you are interested in and excited about. Since this is an internet home business, and most traffic (85%) to the websites will be determined by the big three search engines Google, Yahoo and MSN, it is a good place to start your research from. This research should focus on the following three aspects, as described above for a niche market:
High demand: Using tools like Inventory Overture (http://inventory.overture.com) you will be able to find out whether the product you have in mind is wanted. Type in your niche market term describing your product and you will see how many searches for this term and other related terms were done in the past month. The number of searches per month will depend on the niche market, but in general look for terms that are not higher than 20,000 a month.
Low supply: Take the selected terms and type in these terms in the search engines. The results will give you an estimation how much competition there is or how many sites are available on the internet for these niche marketing terms. Ideally there should be a good balance between the number of searches and results a month. As a thumb rule, you should look for terms that have less than 1,000,000 searches per month for Google, 400,000 for Yahoo and 250,000 for MSN. Based on the balance between demand and supply you could reduce the number of terms and narrow down your market niche.
Profitability potential: Once you have the reduced list of niche market terms, you also need to know much advertisers would like to pay for each term. Use for example Google Adwords, and select for the last time based on the results terms with the highest pay per click.
With these definitive niche market terms in mind, you could be able to optimize your website for two or three of terms, by adding relevant content to your site, concentrating around these terms. Because the chosen terms (and related product) have been selected based on three criteria which are typical for a niche market and your research conducted ‘life’ with the three big search engines, you have already all the conditions to be successful in niche marketing. In internet marketing in general, most are aiming for the big fish with a lot of competition. In contrast with niche marketing, you are looking for small fishes. But if you know where they are by conducting sound research, the catch might be greater and more frequently.

One of the absolute most prolific pieces of advice for prospective affiliates is to work within their passions-to find their niche market in an area of personal interest and stay with it. While there is a place for niche marketing in affiliate marketing, it is not what you have been led to believe that it is. For sure, “work within your personal niche” is one of the worst pieces of advice given to new entrepreneurs, and the cause of multitudes of affiliate failures.
Do what interests you; find your niche; do what you are passionate about; sell the products that interest you the most.
These are the pieces of advice that entrepreneurs are told time and again. And there is some basis to this thought, some method behind this madness. The overall belief is that if you choose to do business in an area or ‘niche’ that you are deeply interested in, that passion will shine through and you will make sales almost accidentally. The feeling is that by selling products or working within your most favorite niche you will have a built-in sense of urgency and desire that will compel you to work on your business and to succeed.
Moreover, by working within a niche category of personal interest you will come prepared. That is, you will come armed with bucket loads of knowledge and experiences with various products so that you don’t have to ‘waste time’ getting up to speed. You’ll already know the products that deserve promotion. And you’ll know all the promotional background information almost off the top of your head.
The belief is that if you focus on promoting products that are in some way of interest to you, you can easily take care of business. You can construct websites that will sell the products; you can write articles to submit to directories and gain links back to you, the niche expert; you can build blog upon blog and never run out of something great to say about your favorite little widget that so transformed your life as a widget collector (whether you should or not, is another matter, and we’ll discuss that later).
Here’s the thing about this-none of it is untrue. It is easier to put yourself behind a product you already know. It is easier to hit the ground running when you are already well-versed in matters. It is easier to connect with visitors and readers who are more like you. So why, then, is it a myth to believe that you should focus first and foremost on your personal-interest niche as an affiliate marketers? Why can’t that mean virtually automatic sales and commissions?
The reasoning against personal niche concentration is more simplistic than you might think. And in point of fact, there are some exceptions to the rule, which we can touch upon after you understand why the myth in general is a myth.
What’s wrong with doing something you are passionate about? There is nothing truly wrong with it. But there is something unprofitable about it in an overwhelmingly large percentage of cases. What is unprofitable about this mindset is that it is just too limiting. By choosing your business and products based on one personal preference, you lose the freedom of choice. And that freedom is important, because it is what allows you to give buyers what they want, and saddles you with a limited number of affiliate product options, most of the time in a niche that isn’t seeing very high demand.
Very simply, unless your niche interest happens to be in products or subject areas that coincide with what people are ready to buy, it does not come with the most essential element of affiliate marketing success-built-in customers.

Niche marketing, or in other words, offering a particular product or service to a particular segment of buyers, has become the key to any successful business nowadays. Online niche marketing is based on the same principle – targeting a small section of the web users by providing useful and keyword optimized content. This form of marketing is so popular because it is cost-effective and less risky since you know what your customers want and can tailor your product or service accordingly.
There are plenty of factors that build up successful online niche marketing, but the first steps you make will largely be responsible for the success or failure of your business. In fact, you should make these steps even before you start planning any marketing strategy.
First and foremost, you need to find your online niche, i.e. the segment of users you will be targeting. As practice shows, finding a niche, which is underserved, is the safest bet today. That means you need to find a target market where demand is greater than supply. With online niche marketing it is not as difficult as it seems to be.
All the activity on the web is easily traceable thanks to keyword searches. That is, knowing what people are looking for will give you an idea what you can offer them to satisfy their needs. To research those keywords you can use either specially designed software or marketing tools offered by Google and Yahoo, such as Overture, for example.
Ideally, you need to find a niche with minimum competition. Run the keyword/key phrase in a search engine and see how many results it returns. If the number is less than 1000, consider the market not so competitive. In a rare case your search turns in zero links, meaning that you have managed to find a niche where there is simply no existing competition as yet, think why it is so. No matter how much you would like to believe it is because you are the first who discovered this market niche, the truth might be – the niche is so difficult to penetrate, that previous attempts of other companies failed.
In both cases, you need to come up with a unique product (or an enhanced version of the existing one) in order to attract the potential buyers. One component of successful online niche marketing is to put yourself into your customers’ shoes. With all the supply in the chosen niche, what kind of product or service is still lacking? Even if there is little or no competition, the audience you are targeting may respond poorly to the product you offer simply because it was not adjusted to their unique needs.
However, identifying your potential customer circle is not yet enough to start a niche marketing strategy and ad campaign. The next step should be accumulating substantial information about the niche. You should be well-educated about the subject; you should be able to speak the language of your customers. Of course, it helps to have a genuine interest in the field or even be an expert in it. If you choose a niche you know little about, you are bound to make mistakes, which eventually may ruin your business. Your clientele will be more convinced in your online niche marketing campaign if they feel your enthusiasm and passion about the subject.
Whether you are a successful marketer or not, there is a tool you need to know that can instantly explode your income. Check out my recommended site below for details.

There are many benefits to niche marketing but there are also many people who claim that pursuing ones niche could give you a lot of headaches. However, with the advent of the Internet you may find out that you have more market for your niche idea than you though possible. You must be careful though, because even before you are able to realize the results you want, you might go through a lot of difficulties first. Nevertheless, all of your efforts will be worth it in the end. Just remember every successful business started out with a viable business plan and your online niche marketing business should be no different. While this plan does not have to be elaborate you do need one. Your plan is your road map to take you from the beginning to your goal.
One reality that you have to believe in is that it is really possible to earn a lot of money marketing what you like online. This has been proven by people who market and sell products they have a passion for over the Internet. A very effective income generating tool over the net would be your blogs which you could have hosted by your own website. This blogs of yours serves as a constant moneymaking tool, other than its usual purpose of being one of the means you use to pour out your thoughts.
With the fact that you can put in anything that you want, this would also be the best channel for you to divulge to the public what your niche is. Having good content is the concept of niche marketing. Either you write things for yourself or you have some good articles completed for you. After being able to create good content you may now proceed with the development of your bog’s promotion.
This may appear to be complicated but the reason you can succeed in this area is that you give yourself the freedom to tackle the things that you really love. You may write about any subject you think you have advanced knowledge in and that serves as your niche. As you refine and acquire your skills regarding your niche, you will be surprised that your knowledge is starting to expand even more than what you originally expected. By this point, you would begin to know the things that your audience wants to know, so that in due time you’d be able to satisfy their curiosity and appetite for the information you provide.
Some people claim that being known as a credible writer is the secret to the success of niche marketing; you need not worry because the very essence for you to gain your audience’s trust is to have impeccable and reliable facts included on your site.
As you refine and acquire your skills regarding your niche, you will be surprised that your knowledge is starting to expand even more than what you originally expected. By this point, you would begin to know the things that your audience wants to know, so that in due time you’d be able to satisfy their curiosity and appetite for the information you provide. Your bog’s popularity will also start to grow along with the money you have initially invested. As you can see, there is really nothing you should be afraid of in niche marketing, the key is being confident enough in your niche and then do every promotion possible to let others know about it.

Is niche marketing for you? Of course, it is! If you are trying to make money on the Internet, you must narrow down your focus. Niche marketing, by definition, means focusing on a small portion of a general category. Instead of creating a website about pets, create one about dogs. Or narrowing it down even more: poodles.
Creating one small website may not produce the thousands of dollars you wish, but think of creating multiple websites based on tight niches. That is where the money will come in because that is what the public will be looking for.
The first thing you will do is to find the first niche by researching keywords. Using will be a big help in finding related keywords for the niche you are researching. Look for a KEI of at least 10. A KEI of 100 is best and if it’s over 400, you’ve won the jackpot!
After you have found your particular niche, you will need to get the content for your website. You will have to either write articles, re-write private label articles, have articles written for you or use articles from other authors. You must keep the author’s resource box (bio) that is located at the end of the article with the article when you use it. You can find these articles in article directories. You’ll find tons of article directories by typing “article directory” into Google Search. Each article will be based upon a keyword or keyword phrase.
Now, you will need to register a domain name; something like yoursitename.com. It should be based as closely as possible on your website’s niche topic. You will also need web hosting so you will have a home for your website.
Next, you need to Montetize your site. Look for multiple ways to bring income in from your website.
Add affiliate programs and Google Adsense. Be sure you have good (real) content on your website before asking Google to approve your account. They frown on “Under Construction” notices and your account will not be approved.
Choose affiliate products that compliment your website’s niche. Don’t put gambling banners and ads on a site that’s about dogs. That’s not what your site’s visitors are looking for. If you don’t know where to look for affiliate products, you can find nearly any product for your niche at ClickBank.com.
Get a product to sell on your site. Write an ebook about your niche or have one written for you. Write a sales page and use PayPal to accept payments.
The last step is to get traffic. Your web pages need to be optimized for the keyword or keyword phrase that your page content is based on. Remember at the beginning when you wrote your articles based on a keyword? That keyword needs to appear in your article (page) title, in the Heading, in the first paragraph and at least a couple times in the body of your article so the search engines can find it.
Another way to get traffic is to write more articles and submit them to article directories. I believe this is one of the best free traffic generators there is.
Blogging is also an excellent way to get visitors to your website. Most cpanel servers have Fantastico which installs WordPress with just a few steps. When you have a blog, every time you post an article or other information, it “pings” the pinging services. This causes your site to be spidered by the search engines quicker than just using one or two methods of traffic generation.
You can make money in niche marketing, but it will take effort. Carefully do your research, follow search engine optimization rules, and go for the traffic.

The first rule of being a successful affiliate marketer is to pick a profitable niche market to spend time and effort in promoting. If you neglect this important step, you will not make any money using article marketing. From this base you will start to build a large selection of articles, all from a giant list of low competition keywords, to reach a more general audience within your chosen niche. Each keyword will represent one article. Writing your articles this way, you will be targeting a specific audience, but you will find a carry over within the niche to other people using other keywords. In addition, on your site, you will have multiple webpages, each targeting specific angles on your niche, to attract the attention of those looking into your niche subject for their answers. They will be interested in many of your pages, and be satisfied with what they find. This will translate into repeat visits, which will turn into higher chances of converting visitors into buying customers. You can find keywords for your niche market the hard way, or you can do it the easy way. The easy way being by using a keyword software program, where you type in a broad keyword term, usually a single word like “dieting”, and the software will dig in and locate many keyword variations on that single word that people are using to find your niche market. Along with the words in the list, the software will show you how many searches are being made for each word or phrase, and the better keyword software terms will even go so far as to tell you how much competition is already playing the game you want to get into. This data — keywords, number of searches, and number of competing sites — will give you enough information to decide where your time and effort will be best spent. You want keywords and niche markets where there are numerous searches but not enough sites competing for those terms. This is what is meant as low competition keyword terms. Sure, individually you will not get much traffic, but the traffic you do get will be highly targeted, which is the best kind of traffic. The more words you find that are low competition keywords, the more highly targeted traffic you will have. That increases your chances of getting sales, and that is the real name of the game. A big benefit of using low-competition keyword phrases is that you can easily find yourself in the top ranks of the searches for that keyword phrase very quickly, by writing articles optimized with your newly found low competition keyword phrases. If you find several niche topics that meet your interest, then you should focus on no more than three to begin with, and go with the easiest ones first. Build your site or blog around those three sets, write your articles around them, then after you build up your income from these sets, you can start on the next set, with another site or blog, and repeat this process. By developing the skill of identifying profitable keyword phrases with optimized article writing, you will find it getting easier and easier to profit from low competition keywords and niche marketing. I have a feeling some niche marketers found success in a way that is not publicized on the Net.
What is typically publicized is the way of the “niche blitz”: Cover as many niches as possible en masse and monetize related information. This aims for quantity. Under the duress of time, strategization is sacrificed, and the emphasis is on a repetitive pattern of setting up online systems for monetization through product sales, paid clicks and lead generation, but each one of these niches or systems are not going to pay highly by itself because of a certain ‘herd’ factor pertaining to this idea of a “niche blitz”. Moreover, the maximum human effort that can be possibly expended comes most likely from only 1 person, the marketer himself.
In the Internet Business Manifesto, Rich Schefren had stressed you’re going to hit a limit with all the work done solely by yourself. That’s not how companies grow. I’m already lying to myself when “I AM the company”.
Not only that, the end of your “niche blitz” can come when your niche sites become stale and die down because of one-time setup-and-leave-it effort or “repetition fatigue”.
Of late, because of the expertise I’m known for, business associates have come to propose ideas and work in need of a collaboration to generate leads online. So instead of chasing niches, I’m attracting them. Second, the economy of these offline businesses my associates are involved in definitely deals with a lot more money and possibly have a lesser degree of competition due to its lack of Internet pre-eminence (it may be the same case with competitors in the same industry), but if I should bring the business online, it will certainly be presented from a unique angle and with a unique taste.
The crucial characteristic to note is any form of business that requires a team of players to run it is certainly big enough to share substantial profits for everyone even while your role within the team is a small bit part. It is what you should be looking for in evaluating a business because you can then fully focus on exercising a specialty skill (for example, lead generation) to the fullest instead of “doing everything from A to Z”, leading to fatigue and aimlessness.
So don’t be embarassed that you don’t consider yourself successful via the “niche blitz” method. Being more selective can be the more profitable way for you.
With this being said, perhaps there are highly profitable businesses within your neighborhood that with your help as an Internet Marketer and if the business permits, they can bring in a lot more profits online! You are merely piggybacking a business and injecting it with a new momentum towards Internet pre-eminence. If you’re not attracting opportunities then you should proactively approach the business owners instead and propose a win-win situation.
I was able to obtain a sample copy of a local businesses approach letter that Paul Evans has used to create an extremely successful business serving as the local Internet expert for businesses in his hometown. I want you to have a free copy.
This is the perfect complement to Andrew Cavanaugh’s special report, “Offline Gold For The Online Marketer”, about selling your Internet Marketing skills to businesses in your local city. The report starts by presuming the reader as a total stranger to business owners and how s/he goes about the process of striking a business partnership to the point when they would be happy to put checks into the reader’s pocket.
Years ago I did a little research out of curiosity and I reprint my personal summary: Out of the 95% of all US companies which are small businesses (categorized as having less than 100 workers), 66% do not believe the Web offers significant opportunities to fuel their growth just because they are local businesses. Only 23% anticipate that online sales will affect their bottomline. So if people say there’s still a lot of potential in online marketing, imagine what’s still being ignored in the REAL world!
If you know very well you would like to take the path of forging alliances with existing offline businesses, read Andrew’s special report to find out how to go about it in the most effective and efficient manner.

Niche marketing is a term that gets kicked around a lot, but what does it really mean and how can it put more money into your pocket? Keep reading to find out.
A niche market is a smaller, very focused group of people who share a common set of interests and needs. These people are looking for a very specific product or service.
So niche marketing is about finding these tightly focused groups of people, understanding what they want, and selling it to them. This superb strategy will decrease the amount of competition you encounter and great increase your chances of converting cash sales.
Most people, when asked about a niche market will respond with a lot of general topics. For instance many entrepreneurs seem to think horse training, dog grooming, alternative energy, healthcare, and online business are niches.
These areas are all very broad, highly competitive market, not niches. On the other hand, training injured horses to compensate for their bad leg, stylish hair bows made especially for black toy poodles, a guide on the best solar powered flashlight, tips on how to care for men with a particular type of dementia, and software that helps you build a better shopping cart are all examples of possible niche products/services.
I say possible because while these are all very tightly focused concepts, they are not real niche markets until you know for certain a group of people is actively looking to spend money on them. Getting focused in only one part of the niche marketing formula; the second and equally critical piece of the puzzle is in identifying your customers.
In fact the process of finding a niche market actually begins with the search for your potential customers. Most people make the mistake of finding what they believe to be a great product first, and then looking for someone to sell this product to. This is the fast-track to disappointment. You always need to find the people you’ll market to first, and then worry about the exact product you’ll offer.
You can start with a general idea, like a hobby or a skill you have. But before you begin to build a business around this idea you absolutely must be sure there are ample people online who are interested in your idea.
There are a number of good keyword research utilities online that can help you begin your quest for the right niche market. In essence a keyword research tool will tell you what terms people are searching for on engines like Google and Yahoo, and in many cases you can even find out how frequently the popular terms are being queried!
Once you know what terms are being searched, you’ll want to see for yourself what searchers are finding on the major engines when they enter these terms. Are there thousands of sites selling products and services related to these searches, or are there only a handful of sites offering any information related to the keywords you’ve found?
In the ideal scenario you’ll find a group of related keywords that are searched on quite a bit, and then confirm that very few (or no) sites can be found to provide a solution to the searcher’s problem. This qualifies as a legitimate niche marketing opportunity.
The research phase is the most important step in the process of launching an online business. And it’s the step most people skimp on or avoid altogether.
Sadly, this is why most people flop miserably with their online venture. They never bother to find out if anyone else cares about their idea, and they end up developing a product nobody wants.
Now that you understand the basics of what niche marketing is you can avoid making this costly mistake. Find your tightly focused group of potential customers, find out what it is they want/need, and then get to work figuring out how you’ll be the person to offer them what they are looking for!

Craig Thornburrow wrote:
Quality backlinks play a critical role in the field of search engine optimization and can have a tremendous impact on the amount of traffic that you generate. Without backlinks pointing to your site, it can be extremely difficult generating traffic on a daily basis. This will give you the ability to continuously drive in new traffic day after day.
There are many factors that decide your position on the search engines. The higher you are on the search engines, the more inclined people will be to click on your website. Conveniently enough, backlinks are one of the top things search engines look at when rating your website.
In case you are an internet newbie, backlinks are the links scattered around the web that point back to your site. You will find these links on forums, blogs, and any other websites that are willing to put your link on it. The more backlinks you have around the internet, the better chance you have of increasing your traffic volume.
If you think about it, your site is worthless if nobody knows about it. That is like having the worlds largest Wal-Mart in the middle of the desert and not telling anybody about it; you probably will not get much business. But having backlinks scattered across the internet will get the word out about your website. As someone runs across it on another site, they may click on the link and be directed to your site.
Now that you know what backlinks are and how they can benefit you, you probably want to know how to get them. There are several effective methods to getting backlinks pointing toward your website. The most popular and well known method is link trading. This consists of you trading your link to someone else for their link. This requires you to place their link somewhere on your website in agreement that they will place your link on their website.
If you truly want to benefit from this method, try to trade links only with websites that have a page rank the same as yours or higher. This will stand out to the search engines and increase your rank.
Another method is writing articles and submitting them to directories. The way this becomes a quality backlink is through the resource box at the bottom of the article. You are allowed to write a couple sentences about yourself or your business and place a link to your website in the resource box. Whatever methods you opt to use, it is essential that you have as many quality backlinks pointing back to your site as possible.
