niche marketing
Niche marketing is being used a lot by businesses to help them succeed in the over crowded Internet marketplace. The Internet has allowed for business start up being easy and makes running an online business almost automatic. This means there is even more competition than ever for customers.

Niche marketing solves that problem. It is a way to focus your attention on a single group of customers that is most likely to buy your product or service. This group is going to be the most loyal and they will make up your biggest profit base.

Once you have done your research and defined your target niche market you have to learn how to use it to your advantage to make your business successful. Here are four ways you can use niche marketing to boost your earning potential.

1. Advertise where your niche market is most likely to look. A niche market is going to be people with similar backgrounds, ideas and interests. It shouldn’t be too hard to define some places where your niche market is most likely to frequent.

2. Say the right thing. You have to talk to your niche market the way that they talk. For example, if your niche market is a teenager, then use some teenage lingo and speak to them in a way that they will understand. Do not talk down to your niche market, but rather go to them on the same level and communicate with them. If you need help find someone in your target niche and ask him or her for his or her opinion.

3. Make sure you are addressing a unique need. You want to stand out from your competition and address a need that nobody else is addressing. You may have to do a little market research to find out what people want that they are not getting from the current products or services that are already available to them. But it will be well worth your time.

4. Make sure the price is right. The whole point of finding your niche market is so that you can cater to their needs. One of the most important things you can do is to make sure that the price you set for your product is one that your niche can afford. If you are selling something to a niche market that is in a medium income bracket then you don’t want to price your product for those that are in a higher income bracket or you will lose sales.

Making the most of your niche marketing efforts is essential. There is no point in using niche marketing if you are not going to take all the necessary steps to ensure you are using it right. Niche marketing can be very successful if you do everything you can to ensure you are taking full advantage of it. Once you find a hungry niche market you will discover that it was well worth all of your time and efforts.

Relaxing Music

niche marketing
A great many hopeful entrepreneurs start out with ClickBank. One of the largest affiliate websites, ClickBank provides marketers with instant access to thousands of downloadable products that pay commissions as high as 75%. The benefits are great - you can make huge commissions just by referring prospects to a vendor’s website. You don’t have to worry about product creation, delivery, credit card processing, customer support - it’s all handled for you by ClickBank and the product vendor.

One of the frequent mistakes new affiliates make is that they see a new ClickBank product that captures their interest - the sales page is good, it seems like a good seller and each sale pays $40. Now, they hurriedly find a few keywords, write up a Pay-Per-Click(PPC) ad and start a Google AdWords campaign. Now all they have to do is wait for the sales to mount up and then collect a big commission check.

So they wait. And then they wait some more. They check their PPC campaign stats and sure enough, they’re getting ad clicks. Then they check their ClickBank account to see how much they’ve earned in commissions. So far, their account balance is zero. Next, they add some ‘better’ keywords to their PPC campaign. Things are looking better now - they’re getting more clicks. Back to the ClickBank account to check on those commissions. Again, it’s zero.

What could be wrong? It’s a good product, with a great sales page. They are generating traffic to the sales page with PPC, but so far, there are no commissions, but there is a mounting PPC cost.

Forget Mass Marketing -

Failing to zero in on a target market can be a costly mistake. You’ll incur lots of PPC cost, but you’ll get few, if any sales. Trying to appeal to the masses, you’ll soon discover that people click on your ad mostly out of curiosity. They’re not serious prospects, they just want to take a look. This kind of traffic can soon use up your entire advertising budget, while producing few sales.

Go Right for the Niche -

Rather than trying to get many people to the sales page, you’ll be much better off if you concentrate on getting higher quality prospects. First, you’ll need to select your affiliate product with different parameters than before. Rather than finding a good product, look for a good target audience to sell to. Once you’ve found an audience that’s hungry for the solution to their common problem, you can search for an affiliate product that solves their problem.

By taking this approach of finding the target market first and the product second, you’ve greatly increased the chances for success. Think about this - if you’re trying to sell an excellent ebook about maximizing the return of stocks in your investment portfolio to poor people that are unemployed, do you think you’ll get many buyers? Probably not. But what if you tried to sell that same ebook to wealthy people that are active stock market investors with excess cash on hand?

Finding the Niche -

This part does take some time and effort, but the rewards can be substantial. As mentioned above, you’ll need to find a target audience. There are a great many ways to do this. Here’s a couple of methods you can use -

- watch online forums and discussion boards for questions that refer to a common problem for many of the forum members

- look thru the questions posted on Yahoo Answers, again watching for a common problem in search of a solution

Once you spot a good market that isn’t being adequately served, you’ve found a potential goldmine. Now all you have to do is present that market with the solution they want and you’ll see your commissions growing steadily.

Automate the Process -

Finding niche markets can really pay off, but you may not want to take the time to find those markets manually. This is a great time to put your computer to work - let your PC find those highly profitable niches for you. With the right software, you can automate the somewhat tedious process while you concentrate on other aspects of running your business!

niche marketing
A single industry of any type is far to large for any individual business to tackle all on its own. Even the largest corporations cannot cover a whole market by themselves. This is where niche marketing becomes a businessperson’s best friend for making potential much more manageable. If you develop your own niche marketing strategy, then your business will offer specialized goods and services, and you will be able to target specific niche groups of prospective clients.

But what does niche marketing actually mean for your own unique business? By understanding your own business niche, it means that you gain the capability for mastering your own special corner of the marketplace. Your niche marketing strategy will bring about a better ability for catering to specific customer interest so that you can capitalize upon it. You’ll have your own unique niche in the business world in which you will stand out the most.

Think about your business niche carefully before deciding upon it, as you will dedicate yourself to it rather exclusively from that point on. You’ll need to make sure that it is a niche marketing strategy that is indeed achievable.

Once you’ve chosen how you will be niche marketing, you will need to ask yourself certain questions about how you will develop this into a niche marketing strategy. These questions should include:

How is my business most effective? What are my special skills and strengths? When answering this question, go over both your own abilities, and the abilities of your company as a whole. List your strengths and skills. You may find this process to be quite enlightening. It includes things that you’ve always known, but may not have actually recognized for their full potential.

What do you and your other team members enjoy doing? The more you like what you’re doing, the more you’ll naturally be able to dedicate to its success. If you don’t like your business niche, there may not even be profit available, because you’ll be held back on a subconscious level. To begin answering this question, one of the best places to look is at your hobbies and the things that you already do for enjoyment. Instead of only working with your dreams - which may or not be what they expect them to be in reality - look at what you’ve already tried and already liked. These are the tried, tested, and true activities for you, and are those to which you’re most likely to motivate you the most. This passion can only translate to added profit. Not only will this make your company a more enjoyable venture, but it will give you endurance and focus that you may never have known you had. This level of stamina and motivation is vital to starting up a fresh company, or changing a business that already exists.

What do you need to make this niche work? It’s all well and good to choose a niche marketing strategy, but it’s another to recognize what is involved to make the theory a reality. You’ve identified your strengths and what you enjoy, now it’s time to assess them with customers in mind. How can you use this information in a way that will make customers buy something? To answer this question, look at your potential customers. What do they already buy, and what are they likely to buy in the future?

Now you’re ready to come up with your niche marketing plan. The last step is to make certain that it doesn’t interfere or conflict with any business plan that you already have in place. The niche marketing strategy is only valuable if it can be made to function within your own company’s potential.

Niche marketing is among the best things you can do to maximize your success potential in a staggeringly large marketplace. Begin today and reap the rewards that are so close to being yours.

Niche marketing continually attracts more individuals to the promise of high returns one can get. Undoubtedly, niche marketing can be one of the most effective means of earning a secure income on the Internet. As with other types of business, a large percentage of the profits in niche marketing directly relates to ones advertising, promotion and selling techniques. While the niche marketing industry grows, the greater the market saturation, as a result a niche marketer must be resourceful enough to utilize more unique and effective ways to convince prospective customers to buy the products and services they have to offer.

While niche marketing can be a more effective and lucrative way of operating a business than in comparison with broader conventional marketing practices. However, numerous individuals still fail when it comes to niche marketing. There are quite a few reasons why this is so and we’re going to take a look at just a few here:

Advertising - Getting your advertising wrong when marketing any type of business and not just niche marketing, can seriously suffocate your efforts. Search terms - Without question one of the biggest mistakes one can make when undertaking a promotion in any niche is a poorly compiled list of keyword phrases. A good list of search terms will form the corner stone of your niche business. Whether you are using PPC or organic search results to send potential customers to your offer, you must get your keyword phrases right. Time spend here compiling your keyword phrases will pay off handsomely in time.

Research - Save you are absolutely a versed with your preferred niche, you are going to have to do a lot of research to better predict the wants and desires of your potential customers. Research can be performed in a number of ways, from browsing internet forums, analysing articles both on and off-line, examining the competition, talking to existing customers and talking with other niche marketers regardless of their niche. With online marketing, you don’t need to study for years until you can reap rewards. There are sound business concepts that have been taught and proven to be true by some of the most highly successful marketers in the world. What is the top sound principle that will ensure your success? It’s choosing the right niche market.

What is a Niche?

A niche is simply a group of people with similar interests and needs. They are very passionate about their topic of interest. Think of a small pond packed with starving fish and you have the exact bait they like the best - This, in essence, is the basis of niche marketing.

Obviously, besides craving your product, the niche members must also have money to spend. If they have empty wallets, they simply won’t be able to buy anything. You’ll want to target people who are willing and able to spend money.

Why bother marketing to a Niche?

Unless you’re a huge corporation with a matching huge budget, niche marketing is the way to go. Most large corporations dismiss niche markets because they’re not trying to make an additional $1000 to $15000 per month like many home-based business entrepreneurs and other small business owners. They’re seeking to make millions per month - and that’s good for you because you don’t have to compete with those companies that have massive marketing budgets.

Researching to Find Niches -

In order to find niches, you can search places online where the ‘niche’ people hang out. Here are some productive places to discover niches:

1) Go to google or your favorite search engine and search for keyword + forum. For example, if you’re interested in helicopters, you’d search for helicopter forum. Look thru the postings, questions, answers and concerns expressed by the forum members. This will give you some good ideas for common problems and how you can address them with a product offering.

2) The online auction site Ebay is another good place to look. Just go to pulse.ebay.com to view the top selling products. This should give you a good idea of what’s hot right now. If you can satisfy one or more of these niche markets, you can do well.

3) Look thru the postings of online groups, such as groups.google.com, groups.yahoo.com and groups.msn.com - as with the forums, look for needs that aren’t being fulfilled.

4) Check the top selling products at amazon.com - see what’s hot right now and if you can offer a similar or complimentary product, you may have found a profitable niche.

5) You can also get a good feeling for the market by going to www.google.com/trends to see what people are currently looking for.

6) Go to 43things.com, a website where people list things they’d really like to accomplish. You can get some great niche ideas here.

What to do after you’ve found a Niche -

Now that you’ve found a potentially profitable niche, it’s time to find a product you can sell to that niche. Good choices are ClickBank, LinkShare, Commision Junction, Amazon, etc. Decide on the product to fill the need of the niche, then use a Pay-Per-Click(PPC) campaign to drive traffic thru your affiliate link.

As Internet marketing evolves, you’ll find it more difficult to remain at the top of your markets. More competition means that you’ll be working harder and probably making less money for your efforts. Working harder for less money doesn’t sound too appealing, does it?

We’ve all seen the hyped up ads -

- Work Only 15 Minutes a Day and Make Thousands of Dollars Every Week!

- Secret Ebook Reveals Easy Path to Wealth Without Work!

- Promote This Product and Make Millions!

- Sign Up for Free and Make Money Today!

Although the ads paint a bright picture of the good life, those things never worked for me or anyone I know. If there is some ‘magic button’ that brings instant wealth, I’ve never been able to find it. But there is a way to drastically improve your bottom line, while minimizing your investment of time and money. It’s called Niche Marketing.

What exactly is Niche Marketing?

Niche marketing is the process of finding a small segment of the market that’s highly focused and presenting that market with the exact product they’re looking for. By a small segment, I’m referring to a group of prospects that has a special interest that’s probably not currently being addressed by most marketers.

Let’s say for example that you want to sell car insurance. If you go to google and search for car insurance, you’ll see there are over 150 million webpages that you’ll be competing with, so your chances of making money in that market don’t look too promising. However, if you narrow your search down to “car insurance for teenagers with bad driving records”, there are zero webpages, so there’s virtually no competition!

Do you think there are many teenagers that have bad driving records? You betcha! And do you think those types of drivers end up paying high premiums? You betcha! Do you think there’s easy money to be made in such a lucrative market that has little or no competition? You betcha!

Of course, car insurance is just being used as an example and you may be involved in an entirely different business altogether. But the basic idea of niche marketing can be applied just about everywhere.

Suppose you want to be an affiliate marketer. You can open a free account at Commission Junction, LinkShare, ClickBank or countless other affiliate related sites. Then you’ll be able to choose from thousands of different products that you can start marketing right away. And since you’ll be an affiliate, you won’t have to bother with creating a product, shipping, credit card processing or customer service. All that will be handled directly by the product vendor, so you can concentrate strictly on marketing - and that’s where you’ll make your money.

Now that you have the general idea of what niche marketing is, how it works and how it can make you money, you’ll need to locate a potential niche market and provide that market with just the type of product they desperately want.

Finding Niche Markets -

There are several places you can look to discover niche markets. You could visit Dummies.com - that’s the publisher that produces all those top selling ‘For Dummies’ books. They’ve already uncovered lots of hot niches for you. Just browse thru their book selections and you should be able to come up with several good niche marketing ideas.

You can also check pulse.ebay.com to see the current top ten sellers, so you can see what’s selling now. Be sure to also look at the top sellers at Amazon for even more ideas.

Once you’ve found an interesting niche market, look thru the affiliate products available at ClickBank, Amazon or whatever affiliate site you’ve signed up for. When you find a good product match, checkout the product sales page to make sure it does a good job of selling the product.

Next, search thru google and see how much competition there is. You’ll want to enter markets where the competition isn’t too fierce, so you’ll have a better chance for success.

Exploiting Niche Markets -

When you’ve decided upon a particular niche market and you’ve found a good product match that doesn’t have too much competition, you’ll need to use Pay-Per-Click(PPC) or some other form of advertising to get prospects to the sales page, thru your affiliate link of course. PPC is a good choice because of fast results - you can start generating traffic within minutes of placing an ad, so you’ll quickly know if you’ve chosen a good niche.

When placing PPC ads, you’ll want to make sure that you use the proper keywords to attract the niche market you’re targeting. There are free online keyword tools you can use, as well as specialized software you can purchase to help with this task. With proper keyword selection for your PPC campaigns, you’ll be able to attract genuinely interested prospects while keeping your click cost as low as possible.

The real beauty of niche marketing is it’s so targeted that you’ll be offering just the right product to the prospects that are in desperate need, so when they look at your ad or sales page, they’re already half-sold right from the beginning!

Automate the Process -

Finding niche markets can really pay off, but you may not want to take the time to find those markets manually. This is a great time to put your PC to work - let it find those lucrative niches for you. With the right software, you can automate the somewhat tedious process while you concentrate on other aspects of running your business!

When you have a site online no matter what it is, it is important for you to be able to build backlinks to your site. Do you have a sports site that you want to build sports backlinks to?

This can be done easily enough. It will take you some time to do but once it gets started it is much easier to keep it going. There are a couple of different ways that you can get the sports backlinks that you want.

One: Directory submissions. You want to make sure that you submit your website at the popular directories such as MSN, Dmoz, and Yahoo. Your pages need to have relevant information and they have to meet the rules and regulations of each of the directories but they will gladly accept your website if you meet these two things.

Usually when you submit your site to these directories for sports backlinks, they will be reviewed manually by editors and they wont approve your site for a backlink if it is junk or irrelevant to the given topic or category. Once you site has been approved by the editors you will get a good quality backlink that will help with your search engine ranking.

Two: Article submissions. This is one of the best ways to get the sports backlinks that you want. However, the article has to contain useful information and it has to be approved by the editors of the article directories. You want to make sure that when you submit your article, it needs to be categorized right. So for example, if you are writing an article about sports or sports equipment, then you need to make sure that you put it in the sports category or one that is relevant to the article.

Another thing you want to make sure that you do is to submit your article to the more popular article directories to get the most sports backlinks such as, iSnare, EzineArticles, IdeaMarketers, GoArticles, etc. There are a lot of directories that you can use but starting with the most popular ones will help you to build backlinks faster.

Three: Blogs and Forums. These are also great for building backlinks to your site. You have to be careful when using this method because of the fact that public participation is high in these two areas, which means that they are more prone to having people start link spamming.

This is not something that you ever want to do. You need to make sure that you get good quality backlinks. The way to do this is with blogs and forums you need to participate only in constructive discussions and be careful about accepting backlinks if they point to poor content or lesser ranked sites.

These are all very good ways to build your sports backlinks. You just have to make sure that you get started and then keep getting more and more backlinks on a daily or weekly basis. The more effort you put into getting good quality backlinks the more traffic you will get to your site and the better page rank it will receive.
