My clients and students are surprised and delighted to discover that a refined niche marketing strategy not only attracts significantly more business but also provides richer opportunities for self expression. To help you discern your own market niche, try using “where” and “who” questions like the following:
“Where” Questions
Where do you consistently find kindred spirits?
Where are you most credible?
Where is there the greatest need coupled with the greatest appreciation for your work?
Where do the people who need your work most often have breakdowns that would cause them to hire you?
“Who” Questions
Who is naturally drawn to you and to your work?
To whom are the things that seem obvious to you a revelation?
Who is traveling a path that you have successfully walked yourself?
Whose language do you speak?
Whose concerns can you reliably anticipate and address?
Whom is it easy for you to serve?
Knowing and working from your strengths are essential parts of developing your niche marketing strategy
There are probably several ways in which your strengths can add value in the marketplace. Therefore, developing a niche is a process of exploring several possibilities and gradually refining them.
You might think about developing a market niche as akin to planting a garden. You start by planting lots of seeds rather close together. As these germinate, you keep the strongest sprouts and remove the others. As your garden grows, you will continue to thin and prune until only the strongest and healthiest plants remain. Along the way you give away or compost the seedlings and trimmings; nothing is lost.
As you refine your niche marketing strategy, you’ll grow in integrity and confidence. With time, you’ll know with certainty which customers are right for you, and you’ll attract more of them.
Are You Afraid of Using Niche Marketing Because it May Turn Away Business?
As you refine your market niche, you may experience some anxiety that focusing on your niche will deprive you of needed business. What do you do if someone outside of your niche wants to hire you?
Talk to them. See how well you fit. There is nothing about a focused niche that says you cannot work with a variety of clients. The point of a niche is not to confine you, but to create the healthiest ecosystem for your business. Focusing your market niche is like focusing a great searchlight that can be seen for miles around. Your searchlight may attract people from beyond your niche precisely because you have defined that niche.
While you always have the option of working with anyone who is attracted by your focused niche, do beware of trying to be all things to all people. Not only are you likely to fail at this, but you run an increased risk of coming across as inauthentic and insincere. The cost of not applying a niche marketing strategy is not being recognized for the offer that you are and not having a fulcrum from which to leverage that offer for increased effectiveness, service, and prosperity. The longer you persist in marketing to everyone and anyone who could conceivably hire you, the more certain it is that you will burn out, leaving yourself and your clients or customers dissatisfied. In order to make a compelling declaration of what you are up to, you must be willing to say “no” to those clients, projects, and possibilities that are not well within the scope of your passion and your expertise.
It is important to look to the market to see what your prospective customers and clients want. But look with a keen eye for how the needs and desires of the market match your strengths, talents, and passions. Say “no” to the opportunities that are a poor match, so that your vision and resources can be focused on the projects and relationships that are most likely to succeed.

You can make Internet niche marketing very profitable as long as you study the industry and make an honest effort to learn everything about the industry. Even if you lack a formal education, you can excel in Internet niche marketing as long as you understand the industry’s key elements. These key elements include selecting a niche carefully, organizing an effective marketing campaign, and learning the trends in the industry.
Select a Niche Carefully
Selecting a niche carefully is an important component of a smart Internet niche marketing campaign. A niche is a specific subdivision of a broader category. The owner of a niche website is knowledgeable about a particular topic and can create quality content that is highly informative and accurate. Knowledge of a particular niche subject is one of the first factors you must know when you select a niche. Ideally, you should select a niche that interests you and you know a lot about.
The second factor is to look for a topic with a large potential audience but not many other websites are competing for the attention of these Internet users. An exceptional niche website can enter a crowded market and excel but it does take more effort because customers tend to be loyal; swaying them can be more difficult than winning the loyalty of new customers.
Organize an Effective Internet Marketing Campaign
Once you have selected a niche, it is time to orchestrate an effective Internet marketing campaign. This campaign may include commercial websites, informative websites, message boards, e-newsletters, ebooks, email campaigns, or any combination of these components. Most likely you will include websites as part of any Internet marketing campaign. It’s important to develop keywords relevant to the niche and optimize your websites for these keywords.
Even though optimizing your websites for particular keywords is important to achieve high search engine rankings, it is also crucial to consider your target audience as you design your website. While high search engine rankings will increase traffic flow to your website, a clever design is also important to meet the needs and expectations of your target audience. High search engine rankings will bring in traffic but it is equally important to capture your visitors’ attention.
Stay Up-to-Date on Current Issues in the Industry
Remember that Internet marketing keeps evolving and it is important to stay current with new trends in the industry - you don’t ever want to be left behind in your niche.
One way to stay current with the latest trends is to participate in message boards focused on Internet marketing. Through these communities, you can voice your opinions on different marketing strategies. Smart Internet marketers can use this information to formulate their own opinions and test strategies, which they are discussing as new and innovative.
You can find informational websites offering instructional articles and success stories, message boards offering a place for those involved or interested in the industry to share information or ask questions, and commercial websites offering e-books, classes and other instructional services.
You can also learn a great deal about niche marketing and niche trends by examining competing websites in your niche. Your competitors’ websites can reveal which elements of website design are most effective for reaching potential customers. Understanding this will help you to create a niche website that is superior to the competition.

Marketing strategies vary for all sorts of reasons, the most important being the return on investment. Niche marketing has proven to be a top marketing strategy that has a high R.O.I.
For instance, ServicesAreUs.com caters:
* first to those that want a home based business,
* then to those that want an online home based business,
* then to those that are interested in a specific home based business opportunity (Google Adwords, Adsense, Affiliate marketing, etc).
* How to create a website that search engines will reward with high page rank.
This strategy has proven to work well for those who do not want to limit their field of competition to one niche. This broad marketing strategy is used to allow webmasters to take advantage of multiple niches within one market. Niche marketing is an important factor in eCommerce.
As stated above, because I have started with a broad market I am able to also targeted niches within this market. This will allow ServicesAreUs.com to be an authority on online home based business strategy, planning and opportunities.
With niche marketing you are unable to compete in broader areas of your market without possibly misleading search engine robots about the theme of your website.
If I were a Niche website I’d target only a small segment of home based business opportunities. For instance, financial management, legal, home office setup, etc either one would be a good start for a Niche website.
Niche websites when structured correctly are very successful, since there are numerous avenues you can use to market to your audience.
The mistake novas online marketers make is not knowing the size of the market they are catering to. Some may think they are catering to a Niche market and it turns out to be a broad market.
Don’t worry about making a mistake like this because if you are consistently doing research on your market (broad or Niche) you will catch it soon and make the appropriate adjustments to your strategy.
Remember, mistakes are how we learn but research can prevent you from making multiple mistakes in the first place.
Many Niche marketers sell products such as downloadable books (eBooks) which is very profitable because when done correctly you have a targeted audience you can in most cases sell to many times over.
For instance, a “managing business finances” ebook may be attractive to those who purchased the “managing family finances” ebook.
Niche marketing is a great fit for those that have a tangible product. Many niche marketers use Affiliate marketing to assist in product sales.
Broad marketing on the other hand starts from the top of a market then branches out like roots on a tree. If structured correctly a broad marketing website will allow you to offer your audience more information.
Broad markets can compete with niche markets on some of the more targeted subnets. Some Internet marketers market via blogs which have proven to be as lucrative as having your niche or broad market on a website.
While there are many marketing strategies and tips you can limit the headache by concentrating on mastering one before integrating or moving to the other.

Finding your own niche marketing is fairly easy. All you have to do is be open to opportunities that come your way.
However, the following tips and advice could help you find niche marketing success. Read on and understand these with an open mind.
Look in and know thyself
It is particularly helpful to know the specific areas and fields that you have excellent and confident knowledge on. To be able to know which fields are these, it would be best to ask yourself what it is you enjoy doing the most.
Where does your passion lie? If in case you were able to choose a specific field where you have no particular interest in, it would definitely be doubly hard to keep doing it day in and day out, every week, each month for many years.
It is always good to engage in something you know and enjoy. Work does not become work but a task that you have to do because you sincerely want to.
List it all and list it good
Make sure to list all the keywords that you think best describe the field you want to engage in. Using a program such as Wordtracker is particularly useful.
This tool helps you expand your own word synonym list and other words that are related.
Assess demand and supply in the internet
Upon listing the necessary keywords, determining just how in-demand these words are online is a good gauge to how you should start with your niche marketing.
Try running these particular keywords through an online tool which will be able to determine just how in-demand these keywords are - meaning how much are these words searched - and how much their supply is - meaning the quantity of websites that list these particular words.
Remember that you need to have words that are in-demand and whose supply is low.
Know thy price
When you already have a good idea of the particular words that have a good potential, try to check the prices for these keywords on Overture or through Google AdWords.
As much as possible, try searching for specific products which are offered through a program affiliate and one which pays high commissions or one that is sell-able through a store online.
Take note that your business should have good potential for profit.
Know thy competition
In the niche marketing business, it is always good to review and assess your competitors. Know just how your competitors are doing their own thing. Could you do what they are doing? Could you do it better?
Research, research, research
Doing research is always best as this could lead you to find niches that are full of potential. Doing the leg work of research eventually pays off.
After which, the nest best thing to do is build pages that have quality content in order to attract as much natural traffic to your specific site.
Of course, Rome was not built in a day and there would be difficulties especially for those who are just starting out. Gradually though, traffic would come and your web site will earn money.
All in all, niche marketing is all about being creatively persistent. Success is ninety nine percent perspiration and one percent inspiration.
A lot of the work has to be done, but the result is always worth it.

Finding a profitable niche online in order to begin a marketing campaign can sometimes be a time consuming process—but it doesn’t have to be an expensive one There are various free methods available to you to aid you in your search for a niche.
Here’s a free method that saves you on time and on money. Look at the articles available on Ezinearticles.com. Look over the categories and pick one that you like. These may pertain to a hobby you have, or it might be something you’re passionate about and have a great wealth of knowledge about.
Look at the anchor text and keywords used in the articles about the topic you’ve chosen. Next, click on http://www.kwbrowse.com/ and get keywords related to the niche/topic that you’re interested in.
Your next step is look at the competition for these words on Google. Google has a free search tool called, appropriately enough, Google’s Keyword Tool. If there are at least eight Adwords ads, the niche should be a profitable one.
You’re not done yet! Take the main keywords you’ve chosen and researched thus far and do a search on them in Clickbank. If there are 4-5 books, then it should be profitable. Now you’re going take a look at your competition in this niche and see how much there is.
If you don’t already know a lot about the subject, learn. Go to a number of forums where people in this hang out. Learn what issues they have, what problems they talk about. Check into Yahoo Answer and see if there is activity on this niche.
Lather, rinse, repeat the above steps with two other niche ideas/keywords.
Then choose the niche with the best numbers and focus your time, energy and money on that niche market.

Niche marketing is a great way for regular people to make money online without a store or big business model. Instead of swimming in a stream that is already filled with success and failure stories, you will hit a market that many have not found yet.
Why Choose A Niche or Focused Market?
Choosing a niche market is ideal because a broader topic will have too much competition. It can still be done but you will have a hard time breaking into a market place that is already filled with lots of successful products, websites and affiliates.
With niche marketing, you can find areas to market that many have never heard or found. This will allow you to create something different and bring unique ideas, content and products to your visitors.
Save Money on Advertising
You cannot become successful without some form of advertisement. If you choose to go with pay per click and other similar online advertising, you will find that it can be much too expensive in a broad niche. Popular keywords could cost hundreds and thousands of dollars for every click.
If you use niche marketing, it could only cost you pennies to advertise using keywords that are not popular. Niche marketing also allows easier use of long tail keywords as more popular websites won’t pay much attention to them.
Target Specific Keywords Easily
Trying to get to the top of a search engine is one of the most difficult aspects of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and paying a company to help will still not guarantee good placement. It will be hard for visitors to find your website via search engine if your results are on the hundredth page.
Using niche marketing however, you can easily obtain results in the first few pages and as your website gains in popularity, you can get a first or second page placement.
Become An Expert
What’s important in a niche business is the ability to know all you can about that niche and product. With a business that is closely focused on one point, you can find yourself in a unique situation instead of fighting for elbow room in an overpopulated market.
Look around you and pay attention to the things that you know well. Do you offer advice to family and friends on anything specific? This free advice can turn into an online money making venture. If you have the secrets to growing that perfect rose bush, use it to your advantage. Sure you can make money selling affiliate products, but you can make more money by selling your own ebook, filled with information that you know well. An affiliate makes a little bit of money from a product but they do a lot of work to make even one sale.
If you work hard at your niche, you could be one of those fortunate people who can leave their day job to spend their full time at home working in your home business. This means more money, more time for yourself and more time to share with your family.

Niche marketing is a term that gets kicked around a lot, but what does it really mean and how can it put more money into your pocket? Keep reading to find out.
A niche market is a smaller, very focused group of people who share a common set of interests and needs. These people are looking for a very specific product or service.
So niche marketing is about finding these tightly focused groups of people, understanding what they want, and selling it to them. This superb strategy will decrease the amount of competition you encounter and great increase your chances of converting cash sales.
Most people, when asked about a niche market will respond with a lot of general topics. For instance many entrepreneurs seem to think horse training, dog grooming, alternative energy, healthcare, and online business are niches.
These areas are all very broad, highly competitive market, not niches. On the other hand, training injured horses to compensate for their bad leg, stylish hair bows made especially for black toy poodles, a guide on the best solar powered flashlight, tips on how to care for men with a particular type of dementia, and software that helps you build a better shopping cart are all examples of possible niche products/services.
I say possible because while these are all very tightly focused concepts, they are not real niche markets until you know for certain a group of people is actively looking to spend money on them. Getting focused in only one part of the niche marketing formula; the second and equally critical piece of the puzzle is in identifying your customers.
In fact the process of finding a niche market actually begins with the search for your potential customers. Most people make the mistake of finding what they believe to be a great product first, and then looking for someone to sell this product to. This is the fast-track to disappointment. You always need to find the people you’ll market to first, and then worry about the exact product you’ll offer.
You can start with a general idea, like a hobby or a skill you have. But before you begin to build a business around this idea you absolutely must be sure there are ample people online who are interested in your idea.
There are a number of good keyword research utilities online that can help you begin your quest for the right niche market. In essence a keyword research tool will tell you what terms people are searching for on engines like Google and Yahoo, and in many cases you can even find out how frequently the popular terms are being queried!
Once you know what terms are being searched, you’ll want to see for yourself what searchers are finding on the major engines when they enter these terms. Are there thousands of sites selling products and services related to these searches, or are there only a handful of sites offering any information related to the keywords you’ve found?
In the ideal scenario you’ll find a group of related keywords that are searched on quite a bit, and then confirm that very few (or no) sites can be found to provide a solution to the searcher’s problem. This qualifies as a legitimate niche marketing opportunity.
The research phase is the most important step in the process of launching an online business. And it’s the step most people skimp on or avoid altogether.
Sadly, this is why most people flop miserably with their online venture. They never bother to find out if anyone else cares about their idea, and they end up developing a product nobody wants.
Now that you understand the basics of what niche marketing is you can avoid making this costly mistake. Find your tightly focused group of potential customers, find out what it is they want/need, and then get to work figuring out how you’ll be the person to offer them what they are looking for!

Debra Vadnais wrote:
Nowadays if we want a website to be successful, we have to deal with niche markets, great content, search engine optimization and tremendous competition. And this list is simply the starting point. We will quite possibly need to acquaint ourselves with marketing and copywriting and converting our visitors into buyers. However, for just about every webmaster, the big difficulty is bringing in traffic.
That leads us to the topic of this article. How can I attract Internet surfers to my site? One answer to this question is backlinks! So, exactly what are backlinks and just what do backlinks have to do with attracting visitors to my site?
The first thing to understand is that there are two basic forms of traffic, paid traffic and organic traffic. Examples of paid traffic are such things as advertising through pay per click networks, placing banners on other sites and any other way in which you are able to pay to attract a surfer’s attention and tempt him to visit your site. If you’re only focusing on paid traffic then you don’t need to pay much attention to backlinks.
Organic traffic is traffic that comes from someone searching on one of the search engines for a topic which they are interested in. Then when all the free listings come up the surfer clicks on a link to visit a webpage. In the case of organic traffic the webmaster does not have to pay directly for the link which the visitor clicks on.
In general, organic traffic is simply called free traffic. Despite the fact that it can be, it usually is not really free. To get a website page included on the first couple of pages of results the webmaster will have to put in quite a lot of work. This brings us back to the topic of backlinks.
Generally, the quality and number of backlinks attached to a site are what determines sites which appear when we do a search. A backlink is nothing more than a hyperlink from one site to another. So it is very helpful if you have a whole lot of websites linking to your site if you want to be ranked highly in the organic search engine results.
But remember that quality matters too. A backlink will be seen as offering high quality if:
* The words used to create the hyperlink (called the ‘anchor’ text) are highly relevant to the topic of the page which the link is leading to. (You should not use “click here”!)
* The topic on the site where the backlink originates is relevant to the topic on your site.
* The site linking to you has plenty of good quality backlinks pointing to it.
* The page rank of the site linking to you is relatively high (ideally a PR3 or more) and the higher the better.
Of course there are other criteria, but the criteria given here are a very good starting point.
So, just how does a webmaster go about building up the necessary quantity of high quality backlinks pointing to his site? There are many ways of doing this and an even greater number of software programs which are designed to assist in providing the answer. Purchasing the software increases the cost of your backlinks.
The truly free way is to simply wait for other webmasters to discover your site and think enugh of it to link to it. That is super, but can take quite a long time. Of course you can contact other webmasters and ask if they will trade links with you. You simply give them a link from your site and they give you one from their site in return. These are however called reciprocal links and are generally thought to be of uncertain value these days.
Another way is to make use of Article Marketing which initially means writing articles about subjects that are relevant to your site. You then submit your articles to several article directory sites and include links of your choice in the resources box following your content. Submitting your website to a number of site directories is another method that fits into the category of free links.
You might also opt to pay for backlinks. One of the simplest methods is to buy a link directly. Internet marketing discussion boards are a very good place to find links on offer. You could pay $50 a month or more to get a link from a PR5 site. You’ll get a lot of traffic from it, but you will pay for it. Naturally the lower the PR is then the lower the cost.
Whatever technique you choose, building backlinks is critical to your search engine ranking success. You’ll want to acquire hundreds or if possible thousands of them. The important thing is that you get started and build up your links steadily over the months ahead so that you can begin to enjoy a steady and growing flow of traffic to your site.

Effective niche marketing ideas
Once you have chosen your niche and researched it you will need some ideas on what to do within that community to draw a huge stampede of traffic through your sites. One of the best methods of doing this is to find prominent members of the niche you are targeting and ask them if you can conduct an interview.
Take some time to research the people you approach. Browse through some news sites related to your niche and spend sometime in forums. Try to find out what the most popular forum threads with a lot of interest from the niche community. Write down a sample list of questions which you can easily modify for different people.
Next you should pick a number of people within the niche community and find out about them. You will need to find out their contact details, email address or a website where they can be contacted from. Make a short list and put together a short biography next to each of their names. Now slowly take your original interview questions and tailor them to each person.
Now there are various ways in which you can conduct the interview. Most of the time it will be easiest to conduct a text based interview where you email your list of questions and ask them to take some time to answer each question and email it back. Other people may prefer a one on one approach and you can record a phone call or audio conversation from your computer. The best way to interview someone would to be to actually meet them in person and have a friend film you. This would be excellent content to distribute on you tube or any other viral video sites.
Simple ideas such as this can be very effective in niche marketing. It’s up to you to decide whether or not you intend to charge people to read, listen to or watch your interview. Most of the time it’s better to brand the interview with your name and website and distribute it for free. The viral way this will spread around your niche will be highly effective at drawing traffic to your website. A simple email capture form will be all that’s needed. Ask your niche to sign up to your newsletter in return for your interview. This is an easy way to build a list and a good reputation within any niche.
Another great way to draw traffic to your websites or to help you build a list of subscribers is to use forums. I’m not talking about using a signature with a link to your website in every forum post you make even though that is a very effective way and should also be used. You should make your own forum about your niche and spend some time to build a small community around this forum.
The more different topics in your forum you can make for different “sub niches” relating to your niche, the better. If you can promote your forums amongst the community then you will be well on your way to building your customer base in the niche of your choice. You may even be able to break your niche down in to sub niches and then target your niche more effectively by releasing a series of different products related to each sub niche.
There are a lot of forums out there, so you will have to be good at promoting and separating your forum from the crowd. Once you get a few regulars, word of mouth will spread amongst the communities and soon draw more people into your forum. Using the interviews to promote your forum is also a great way to put both of these traffic strategies together.
You can also use this forum to build your list as you will have a captive audience who are there because they obviously respect your opinion and have taken the time to sign up. They will be prepared to at least look at your adverts or requests for them to join your list and you can also use your forum to promote your other free products, interviews and videos.
Setting up a forum is easy to do. Most web hosts come with a one click install function for forums and other add-ons. In a matter of minutes you could be running your own niche forum and starting to build your own mini community. This combined with the interview method is a powerful strategy that will help you to create a successful niche marketing business in any niche you choose!

Niche marketing websites must contain valuable information on your service or product. The information requires details on how the product or service benefits the prospective buyer in their daily lives. Part of creating a friendly, informative and successful niche marking website requires a delicate balance between reminding your prospective buyers the product or service your offering and user-friendly readability. Excessive amounts of content allow search engines to promote your website, but what good is a high-ranking, unreadable website?
Traditional sales promotion relies heavily on bombarding the target audience with advertisement campaigns to get the product or service on the customer’s mind. Niche marketing websites should already have their target audience introduced to the product or service it’s offering. Thus, the marketing strategy changes from mass public appeal to developing preexisting interests.
Traditional sales websites pack loads of the same information into their website to obtain traffic from general buyers from all parts of the World Wide Web. Niche marketing websites need to limit duplicate content because their targeted audience has already been identified. Half the battle of incoming traffic has already been fought. The other half lies in convincing the niche marketing, website visitor why your product or service benefits offers more to the customer than other websites within the same field.
Advertising your niche marketing website with duplicate content throughout does not appeal to a buyer who is already interested in your product or service. Customers already know why they’ve come to your website. Now, the consumer wants to know how the service or product can make an impact in their lives. Instead of bombarding the reader with duplicate content, focus on establishing trust with the buyer.
Product or service testimonials provide similar content throughout the website to assist search engine rankings. However, the customer does not see the duplicate content the way a search engine does. Rather, the customer relates contents within the testimonial to their own lives. Testimonials establish a relationship between you and the visitor on a personal level.
Establishing trust and building a relationship with the customer provides one of the most beneficial and difficult aspects in regards to a niche marketing website. Blatant duplicate content on a niche marketing website makes the customer feel like they’re being forced to purchase the product or service. Successful niche marketing websites find a way to incorporate the same amount of content in different modes of communication. Testimonials, buyer ratings, product or service updates and speaking directly to your customer provide some of these different modes.
Niche marketing websites and duplicate content go hand-in-hand with regards to Internet search engine rankings. The key to developing a searchable and readable niche marketing website lies in the different ways you choose to relay the same information. Creating a good niche marketing website starts with researching already available content pertaining to your product or service. Compare your strengths and weaknesses and create meaningful content to add to your niche marketing website based on your strengths. Always keep your audience in mind with regards to content and how it can establish a relationship or build trust.

Specializing in Niche Markets has never been as crucial as it is today. Long gone are the days when you can target general, broad markets and make money from them.
To make money in today’s Internet Marketing environment, one must specialize in well defined niche topics.
Lets examine a few misconceptions when it comes to niche marketing.
Misconception #1: You do not have to be an expert in the Niche field you choose!
Everyone says you should only choose a Niche that you are an expert in…nonsense!
The Internet is so impersonal that you can easily appear as an expert and not know anything about that particular niche topic. The key is to appear as an expert. How? You can outsource, build niche sites with no interaction such as blogs, purchase resale rights to an ebook in a particular niche. You see, you can choose to profit from any niche you like.
Misconception #2: Choose one niche market and stick with it.
Not true! Once you establish yourself in one niche and develop a profitable system, choose another one and run with it. You can even choose a pen name if you like, it’s common practice to do so.
Niche marketing is a numbers game. Once you find a profitable niche put it on auto-pilot and choose another niche market to get into.
Misconception #3: The best way to make money in the niche game is to promote niche products as an affiliate.
Wrong again! Sure, becoming an affiliate and promoting niche products can be very profitable, but if you are doing this, you’re not maximizing your income.
You need to promote your own landing or squeeze page where you collect the e-mail address of the visitor, and then sending him or her to the niche product you are promoting. You should also send out an e-mail course with informative information pertaining to that particular niche market to gain the visitors trust. Since your subscriber now trusts you, you can recommend products in that niche again and again, knowing your recommendation holds a lot of weight.
Those are three popular misconceptions when it comes to niche marketing. Follow the tips above, and you will be more likely to succeed. Remember, it is important to find a profitable niche, set it up so it is on auto-pilot, then move on to the next niche.
Not all niche markets will be a slam dunk, so don’t get discouraged.
Even if one out of ten become really profitable, sit down and smile, you’ve hit the jackpot.

In a world dominated by computers, it is no longer surprising that everything can already be found online. From schools to shops - everything has its virtual counterpart, even communities and businesses!
Ecommerce has found its way into the mainstream, and those who engage with cyberspace are considered the best in their industry. With more than a million pages on the internet, and more being added by the minute, competition on the web is just so tight. How do you think websites garner their reputation? How do they get repeat visitors?
The answer to that lies in what we call the new industry of internet marketing. With almost all websites engaging in some form of internet marketing strategy, you’re sure to have heard it before. Search engine optimization, pay per click advertising, and now niche marketing - these are just some of the strategies that internet marketers employ to bring sites to the top of their field.
Niche marketing strategy isn’t really new, but it is a by-product of the search for a more focused approach to internet marketing. Wikipedia defines a niche market as a “focused targetable portion of a market”. In laymen’s term, this means a smaller part of a market. A market niche is like a location. You identify where and to whom your service is for. To give you an example, a website is focused on giving music production tutorials to newbies. There might be other sites which offer the same service but this time for advanced music producers. By focusing on newbies or people who have some skill on producing music, sites can now create new products and services in response to the need of their clients.
Focusing on a niche can expand your appeal to clients and increase referrals as more products and services are created based on the demand of the market. Your niche marketing strategies can also mirror your company’s highest values without sacrificing them just to get full profit. When you focus on a niche, which is usually your interest, you can employ your skills, talents, trainings and more of your time and effort. This way, earning an income is no longer as difficult as before since you also get to enjoy your work.
Most niche marketers rely on the loyalty of their customer base in order for them to maintain a profitable volume of sales. A common practice among niche marketers is affiliate marketing. By promoting targeted products and services, it is easier for affiliates to reach clients who are in interested in the same hobby or activities thereby allowing affiliates a small but regular stream of income. Affiliate marketing is often practiced by people who have their own websites but do not have the budget to develop their own products and services.
For internet marketers, focusing on a niche is necessary especially when you are new to internet marketing as this prevents the wastage of resources, and this is especially important if you have very limited stock. Remember that not everyone can be as successful as Wikipedia, unless of course, you’re ready to spend as much money, time and effort.

Do you have trouble finding hot niches? Well, most internet marketers are confronted with this problem. The best niche marketing ebook for 2009 reveals six working and easy-to-use niche hunting strategies, so that you will never have to face “niche anxiety” again. In this article I will introduce three ways to find hot niches according to the niche marketing ebook. With this information you will be able to find a whole bunch of profitable niches.
The first strategy, according to the niche marketing ebook, is a method only a small group of internet marketers is familiar with. The usage of this tool enables you to steal your competitors’ keywords - without making a huge effort and by absolutely legal means. You find this tool at semrush.com and it works as follows: First you have to type a website address you want to research in the field at the top. Then you get a list of results with the keywords the website is listed under. This tool also displays the position as well as the percentages of traffic and costs for each keyword. In the free version you get ten keywords as a result, and you always have the option to upgrade to the paid version and get all the keywords.
An often overlooked opportunity to find hot niches consists in the use of the MSN website. The top banner of this website contains 25 broad categories. With just a few clicks you will be able to dig a little deeper and find many sub-categories. Within these sub-categories you can discover very valuable information about the different industries, and you also have access to reviews and sub-niches. The information is seasonal and highly relevant - at thanksgiving, for example, you have access to recipes, tips and tricks at the food and entertainment sector. With this information at hand you can easily create profitable campaigns in different sub-niches. Based on some examples the niche marketing ebook will show you how you can find more niches than you can handle by spending just 15 minutes at the MSN homepage.
The third method to find niches, according to the niche marketing ebook, is a very creative method. You are probably familiar with the google keyword tool. This free tool is extremely useful when it comes to finding new niches. Most people don’t apply this fantastic tool correctly and, thus fail to find new niches. First, you should type in a very broad keyword, e.g. “window” or “Game”. Then you will get a bunch of keywords related to the keyword entered. Take some minutes and attentively go over this list. Take down interesting keywords and dig even deeper. This way you will be able to find some sub-niches based on long tail keywords you haven’t thought of before. As a side note: There is no need to buy a “paid” keyword tool - in fact, the google keyword tool provides you with all the necessary data to find hot niches.
With the three niche hunting strategies provided in this article you must never be afraid of not finding hot niches. If you want to take advantage of additional three efficient niche hunting strategies you can download the best niche marketing ebook for 2009. This ebook also covers the three strategies mentioned in this article and described in more detail with some examples.

Hello niche marketing enthusiasts,
I am fairly new to the niche marketing community but have been studying and following along for about a year now. I’ve started my own blog but like to take the time to visit others. The blogs I have found are terrific and this one is exceptional. I will definitely be coming back here. I am a true believer and pretty much dedicate all of my spare time to our favorite topic, niche marketing. Anytime I find out something that I feel will be of value I like to pass on as I would hope someone would extend that courtesy to a novice like me.
A bit about me: I am an active duty Air Force member and will be retiring from that line of work in a few short months to pursue my favorite hobby, soon to be full time, niche marketing. I fell in love with niche marketing and have been trying my hand at dabbling in it. I have learned so much this past year but hunger for more knowledge. Have to feed the niche monster you know. I want to be in the company of those that think alike about the all mighty Niche. I’m no guru yet but just you wait, LOL.
Niche enthusiasts I want to pass on my two cents about a web site that I just happened across and mention a great company that specializes in the wonderful topic you and I thrive on, niche marketing. If you ever want a great place to get your niche market copywriting done for your specialized niche, i.e. Ghost Writing, then check out The Write Touch 4U. They have a very professional courteous staff always willing to help out. They guarantee all of their work, timely and very personable in communication. They also specialize in writing on any niche topic you can think of. I went with them on my first project and wanted to have a certain recipe book written. I was asked if I had done the research. Being the novice that I am I bowed my head tucked my tail and said no. They actually recommended that I not waste my time and actually pointed me in the right direction on how to do the research. They didn’t just take my money and run. I’m so grateful for that, whew! In the mean time after following their recommendations I have done my research and am confident with my choice. The results they returned are astonishing. I am very happy with my end product. I don’t use anyone else now. If you are tired of searching through a bunch of freelance websites sorting who you think might be a good match and only getting sub-par work or books that are turned in late, then take a stroll over to their website and drop them a line. I’m very sure you will not be disappointed. I will personally stake my reputation on that.
Well I hope this information benefits someone and I do appreciate you all for reading my post. If you have the time and care to check out my blog I would be more than happy to have you sign in. Leave me a post good or bad. I can take it.
Cheers, Darrell Niche-market.blogspot.com

The origin of the word niche is from an ecological perspective, how a species finds a place where they can not just survive but thrive. The same goes for you and your niche. Being a whale in a pond isn’t much use but nor is being a stickleback in the ocean. Marketing is all about finding the right customers for the product. When you pick a product and market it to a select group of people, you will have more success than promoting the same product to a generic ‘everyone’.
Here are some Niche Marketing Examples.
What you eventually choose as a niche market should be something you enjoy doing. It’s hard to think of exiting things to say about cheese if you’re constantly on a low fat diet. Alternatively someone who loves cheese can talk for hours about the various types. What country they come from and the techniques that are used to make them, these topics come easily. A niche site does well when it can provide information of true value. With a physical product such as cheese this is quite easy to do.
Selecting Which Information to Display
When you are dealing with an information product however it can be more difficult to create a good content site without giving all your secrets away for free. You need to show people that you know what you’re talking about while holding back enough so they’ll feel the need to pay for it.
Try to pick a niche where there are both types of products and the more products you can fit inside your niche the better off you are for creating good content. This brings a range of interesting information that will allow people to browse for a while.
Example 1 : Tiling
Let’s suggest tiling for an example. I would imagine this to be a good niche to create an Adsense site around. Advertisers that supply expensive Italian tiles can have their ads placed well. Ceramic glues and grout suppliers will want to advertise there. Makers of tile cutting tools will want to show an ad for their products.
You can easily pad out content by talking about history and geography as it relates to tiles. You can sell home decorating books and do it yourself books while still giving some basic information specific to setting tiles that will be helpful. You could compare different techniques about how to lay tiles on a floor with a cement base versus laying tiles onto a wooden base. You can give tips on how to glue a wall tile on and the use of spacers.
An article page on how to cut a tile showing them how to curve a cut around a pipe may lead to someone realizing they don’t have a grinder and they need one. If you have Adsense on such a page advertising grinders you may get lucky with a click or lead. If there’s a company offering a coupon or bonus for their tools you can display their pictures and an affiliate link.
Example 2 : Budgeting
Wherever there is money there is a niche. I found in the bookshop endless shelves and choices for books about how to handle superannuation but a real dearth on how to budget successfully on a small income. Living within one’s means may not be exiting but its restful to know you can pay the bills.
In such a niche you could look for free calculation software, you could make up excel spreadsheets and shopping lists, you could include viral shopping vouchers and if you’ve ever managed to budget successfully yourself, you could write a book on it. I certainly got asked a lot for books on how to budget but its possible these customers may not be people who can afford the internet so it may not be a profitable niche.
Make sure to research a niche for profitability before you commit much time to building a site around it. Your time is too precious to waste.
Example 3 : The Niche Market
Groups of People with a Similar Problem are a Niche
The last of our niche marketing examples is about people. A niche can just as easily be based around a group of people as it can be around a single topic. Rather than concentrate on the huge topic of childcare, concentrate a site around grandparents left to look after kids, or one just on single fathers dealing with toddler issues.
Issues are Just as Important a Niche as People.
Children trying to cope with the death of a parent and counseling services. The emotions adults feel when they start looking for children they gave away for adoption or those now grown adoptees who are looking for their genetic parents and private detectives. Sudden illness in a family and insurance. Remember your role is to match a product to a market.
To monetize your niche all you need to do is find an expert. You don’t have to be one. Any decent researcher can find enough solid content for a site, so long as they feel strongly enough about its topic. Look at it just as you would a school project. You find information, you find some pictures, you list your resources and you link to products. Link to the expert products or services that you feel will give the best information.
You are the middle man, the matchmaker. Don’t think of it as selling so much as enabling people to find what they are looking for. By promoting products from experts who can help people solve problems you are providing a service to both the reader and the merchant. And you make a living.

Have you ever needed to promote a product online? It was really easy five years ago, but today you will deal with great number of competitors, SEO optimizations, internet marketing professionals, etc. Is there a chance to will search engines battle, if you have low resources? The answer is - YES! You can win if you will not try to fight large companies and competitors with almost unlimited resources. You chance is to win in a very tight segment of market, people can this segment “niche”.
Why it is important to dominate in niche, not in the whole market? Because it is easier and cheaper, if you will be able to dominate in a certain niche, you will have a base for the future market attacks, more over you will be able to generate revenue fast, right after business start-up, as your goals will be to fight a very tight niche, not the whole market.
Let’s focus on dominating niche market in Internet. Fighting for a niche in internet means fighting for certain keywords, that describe this niche. How many keywords are there? Depends on niche, market and your product. Topically the niche starts with 5 keywords, it might have up to 50 keywords, but if you have more, you should consider if you are dealing with niche or bigger market segment?
Also, niche is something where you don’t face much competition. Sure, there must exists some bigger market players, who might be interested in the niche, but the niche must be too small for them to fight.
So how to dominate a certain web niche? First, it is important to find out what your niche is. It is necessary to determine keywords that describe your niche, and keywords that don’t describe your niche. There are a number of ways you can do this, for instance, you can research niches using Google Adwords account, you need to find a ads with highest CRT and conversions rate. You don’t need to fight for keywords that gives you a maximum impressions. These keywords are what your larger competitors are fighting for. Pay attention to keywords that generate you a lot of clicks. Google takes into account your ads, relevance of your page, so these very keywords might be your niche.
How to fight for a niche online? There are a number of methods, but please, understand, that what worked yesterday will not work tomorrow. The general recommendation is having more unique content on your web-site and getting more inbound links. How to get more backlist to your web-site? There are a number of methods that work - you might try article marketing, link exchange and buying, paid reviews, but remember, that everything you do must be relevant to your niche and your keywords.
I do personally like article marketing, because in this case you can achieve several goals, e.g. get a unique content for your web-site, provide our people with important information about your product and tell them about your expertise in this very niche. It works fine and you will be getting a better revenue soon.
Finally, the most important step in your web niche marketing strategy. Pay a great attention to results you have in terms of search engine positions, conversion rate, sales volume. Pay attention to key performance indicators of your on-line niche marketing campaign and you will achieve great results!

Every company or small / home business exists for the purpose of providing their product or service to the market place. With this point in mind it is sometimes baffling not to mention amazing that a great deal of businesses do not spend time on market segmentation (or niche marketing and we will use the terms interchangeably) as a regular part of their business strategy planning sessions.
Company’s often ask about how to do market segmentation and some of the many answers to that question will be addressed here. Failure to focus on implementations of market segmentation essentially means that the given business may well end up selling their product or service into a section of the market place which is not as good as a fit as it could or should be.
The company’s which command significant market shares are the ones which make sure their products or services are carefully targeted to a specific niche in the market. Let’s consider car manufacturers who wish to sell a sports car with two seats and costs in excess of $60K.
This should get you thinking, so consider this if you were tasked with selling this type of car who would you target ? would you spend thousands of dollars sending out leaflets and information to young mothers whose children are all at school ? Would you go to college campuses to speak to post graduate students about buying their first car ? or how about going to visit local working men’s clubs ?
As we continue to consider finding an appropriate fit within the market for our product or service consider the latest video game which has entered the market.
If you were tasked with making maximum sales of this product in a given period of time what groups of individuals would you get together into a room to talk about the product in order to effect the most of amount of sales. Would you call up the local church and ask the pastor for permission to address the congregation after the next prayer meeting ? Of course you would not but you may well take a similar approach if you were representing a music production company who were promoting one of the hottest christian artists on the scene.
When considering market segmentation we have to stand from the company’s point of view and we look out from the company and view the landscape which is called the market. In essence we are looking out at the sea of the population all of which may be clients of ours. Here follows a process on how to effectively segment your market.
Niche marketing looks at splitting up the target market into group for which you can use to target your product and service to. The market can be segmented by race, age, earning capacity, living area, marital status, disposable income, height, skin color, parents, single parent families, music lovers etc, etc which when devised correctly will give you a firm base for which category of product you can sell to a particular Market Segment.
In the examples above let’s consider music lovers; straight away we know that within this market segment or niche there can be jazz, classical, opera, rap, r&b, latin and the list can go on.
What is the point here ? the point is that section or niches in the market can be further segmented to determine very vertical or narrowly defined sections of the market place. When we carefully segment the market to various degrees we end up with the situation where our product dovetails into a section of the market perfectly and all of our marketing and advertising activities and budgets are seen to work in a most efficient manner.
In summary, there are various components which make up a marketing strategy, segmentation strategies play a major part in the overall marketing strategy of any organization or small business. Using the examples above and using it as a template for your niche marketing exercise will serve your company well.

Amongst the number of roads that can be taken, utilizing niche markets is probably the best route that can be taken for building a profitable business on the internet.
Niche markets focus and target on a particular sector of the market. Any business which caters to the needs of niche markets is actually addressing those services or products which are yet to be addressed by providers in the mainstream market. Hence, niche markets are actually narrowly defined segments of probable customers.
By building a website catering to the needs of a particular niche market can lead to huge financial gains. But before you do this, various steps involved in this process must be clearly identified and reasoned with. These steps are:
• Identifying and researching a niche market having profit potential.
• Selecting profitable segments in the market after having intensively researched on it.
• Choosing a web host which can be relied upon and registering your domain.
• Building and optimizing your blogs or website addressing niche markets.
• Performing promotional activities for increasing the web traffic to your website.
It is very important that our niche should not be too narrow as well as too broad as in both cases; chances of success are less due to less demand and more competition respectively. You should be extremely passionate and well-informed about your niche’s subject. You should clearly understand your product and compare it with similar product’s definition, ebook, find niche product site, web help, etc.
Finding a niche requires diligent research and access to a huge pool of information. The work begins with brainstorming various businesses, industries and products. You need to shortlist a few phrases and keywords, which would probably be employed by individuals searching for these products on the internet. Software like Wordtracker and Nichebot can help in this regard. This would lead to increased web traffic to your website. You must also back this up with an extensive research on your ideas.
Niche marketing is the latest buzz in the arena concerned with internet marketing. To get information regarding niche marketing you can look for definition, ebook, find niche product site. The Web has provided immense new opportunities for niche businesses.
The advantages of Niche Marketing are:
• Making money quickly.
• Easier for inexperienced beginners.
• Competition is low.
• Creating a product is comparatively easier.
• Its promotion is relatively inexpensive.
After finding out your niche market, list out your prospective clients like dog owners, accountants, Work At Home Moms, IT professionals, etc. This helps you in making an effective marketing strategy having the maximum return potential. The next concern is related with sourcing or developing your product by converting the product information in the form of an e-book or by online writing. Now, write a useful sales copy, register with Pay Pal and finally advertise your product on the internet with information like product definition, ebook, find niche product site, web help, etc.
So, do you have the required diligence and patience required for making it big in a Niche Marketing business?

Niche marketing is so important to big business that without a well defined customer base or customer segmantation a business is sure to fail within the first year. Niche marketing has been important for years in the offline world. Business people who recognize the importance of niche marketing have made a name for themselves in the online world as well.
Niche marketing is getting and keeping in touch with a tightly defined group of people with the same hopes, dreams, desires, or problems. People come online for one primary purpose…information! The Internet is the information highway. You can only have a piece of the pie if you can define your piece of the pie.
Here are the five top reasons that your MUST define your business and market as tightly as possible.
1.Your sales and lead conversion rate increase dramatically when you are speaking directly to the people who are interested in your product. Customers will not wade through extraneous information to find what they want. Too much information and you’ll lose your buyer.
2.When people search for information they want what they want, not what you want to give them. Again, too much information and customers will click away. You must interest your customer in your site within the first 3-5 seconds. If you don’t convince them that you have what they want within that time they will click away.
3.The content of any follow up should be tight, concise and targeted directly to your customer. Writing content for customers who have a clear vision of their wants, needs, desires and problems increases the number of times your content is read. In order to develop a relationship with your customers they must read your material. If your material holds no interest they will either delete or unsubscribe. Either option does nothing for your bottom line.
4.Product creation is easier when you know exactly who is buying. Products should always answer the current questions of your audience and when you have access to them you can ask questions. You can find out what their burning problems are and create the product they want. In essence you will give the customer what they want and decrease the resistance to a sale.
5.Writing the sales letter for products becomes easier when you are speaking to a specific audience. A trick many copywriters use is to imagine that you are speaking to one individual customer seated directly across from you. If you don’t have a clear vision of the customer’s desires then you have no idea how to address them. You will get sidetracked, add details that don’t interest the customer, and consequently lose their interest and the sale.
There are marketers who ignore this first step. They create a product and they fail because they don’t have a customer base. Don’t be one of them. Take this extra step and be sure to tightly define your market.
